Tundra found herself in a cool, stony place with many caves. She wandered around. The scents of other animals filled her delicate nostrils. This was a place that captured the memories of others. There, in that cave, a dog had given birth. Over there, another had met his mate.
Many thoughts, many dreams.
She paced softly. In some places she heard voices of others, and didn't wish to disturb them.
She paused at the entrance to a cave that caught her glance. It was nothing special. Just a medium sized hollow, cool and moist. The average cave.
But looking closer, she could see a beautiful red flower growing out of the rocks near the entrance. It was so bright compared to the dark grey stone.
And it awoke strong memories in her....of home...
Standing on the cliff near the cave she shared with her family...The sunset was so pretty.
Wandering around, alone. Lost, when she was just a little pup. No place to go. Where were her parents? Crying with exhaustion. She had left the trail, gotten seperated from the rest...didn't know where she was...
A little flower, glowing intense, passionate red, catching her eye...it grew near the entrance of a cave she never wouod have seen otherwise. She was able to spend the night there in comfort, and her parents found her in the morning...if that flower had not been there, where would she have slept? What dangers would have found her?....
Tundra jerked slightly, realizing that she had been lost in a daydream. She paced over to the little flower, and examined in more closely. It was indeed the same kind that had saved her that day when she was a little lost pup.
This was a good cave, she sensed. A safe cave. Perhaps she would spend some time here.
